The three things that get traded away first when a deadline shows up. I’ve spent enough years watching that trade get made to have opinions about it.
When I’m not writing code I’m pulling espresso shots, playing guitar (and maybe singing), or being judged by two cats. I write about some of that here.
What I do, in short
Backend
PHP, Laravel and NestJS on DigitalOcean and Cloudflare: API design, transactional email, R2/S3/whatever storage, provisioning. The unglamorous half that decides whether the rest works.
Native iOS
Swift, SwiftUI and CloudKit. Apps that keep their data on the device.
Frontend
Vue.js and React at scale, and enough design work to know when an interface problem is really a product problem.
